This is a description of the educational Command Modules(tm) that are
included in this archive, which can be accessed by using the 'Apps.Bat' file.
Some of the descriptions come from 'The Best Texas Instruments Software,'
Beekman House, New York.

1) Addition and Subtraction 1 - 1981 Scott, Foresman and Company

This is an educational package aimed at developing the concepts of
adding numbers from one through nine. The programme contains nine
different activities, including counting objects, adding groups,
subtracting, and adding and subtracting columns. when a child
answers a series of questions correctly, the programme advances to
more difficult problems. If a child misses a problem, that section
        of the lesson is repeated.

2) Addition and Subtraction 2 - 1981 Scott, Foresman and Company

A good complement to 'Addition and Subtraction 1,' this programme
completes a two-part educational series by Scott-Foresman. 'Addition
and Subtraction 2' is divided into individual lessons on particular
number skills. Each activity presents the skill, then drills the
	student with questions.

3) Addition Sequence - 1982 Texas Instruments

A rather unimaginative product by Milliken. The software goes
through	60 levels of difficulty, simply drilling the student with
questions and producing cute pictures on correct answers, while
grading the student along the way. Also known as 'Addition.'

4) Division 1 - 1982 Scott, Foresman and Company

This programme is ideal for children learning division skills. Nine
different activities teach mathematical skills in progressively
harder levels, and the lessons are clearly illustrated.

5) Division Sequence - 1982 Texas Instruments

A rather unimaginative product by Milliken. The software goes
through	64 levels of difficulty, simply drilling the student with
questions and producing cute pictures on correct answers, while
grading the student along the way. Also known as 'Division.'

6) Early Learning Fun - 1978 Texas Instruments

Designed for preschool children, 'Early Learning Fun' is a series of
activities teaching the basic concepts of numbers, shapes, groups of
objects, and letters of the alphabet.

7) Face Maker - 1983 Spinnaker Software Corporation

'Face Maker' is part game, part learning experience, and all fun.
It's ideal for young children, and consists of three entertaining
activities that teach children the rudimentary concepts of computer
        programming.

8) Hangman - MB

Word-game. In addition to being a game, this module is included here
because of its useful ability to teach spelling.

9) Minus Mission - 1982 DLM, Inc. and Texas Instruments Incorporated

An entertaining educational game from DLM. You manoeuvre a weapon at
the bottom of the screen from left to right, taking pot-shots at
rocks falling from the roof of a cave. The rocks have subtraction
sums written on them, however, and you have to key in the correct
answer for your shot to destroy the falling rock.

To use a joystick, you have to enable the option.

10) Multiplication 1 - 1981 Scott, Foresman and Company

Another excellent educational Command Module(tm) by Scott-Foresman,
which makes good use of the TI's graphics and sound capabilities,
	with optional speech synthesis.

11) Multiplication Sequence - 1982 Texas Instruments

A rather unimaginative product by Milliken. The software goes
through	62 levels of difficulty, simply drilling the student with
questions and producing cute pictures on correct answers, while
grading the student along the way. Also known as 'Multiplication.'

12) Number Magic (1979 TI)

'Number Magic' is a basic math skills programme that provides drills
in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

13) Numeration 2 - 1983 Scott, Foresman and Company

'Numeration 2' teaches the basic concepts of the decimal system, such
as place-value, and how	numbers work.

14) Pro Typer - DataBioTics Inc.

This package consists of seven lessons of tutorials, along with a
simple game, which are aimed at teaching typing. The lessons also
time you, determining your typing speed. No colourful animated
graphics or sound effects to keep your attention, though.

15) Scholastic Spelling Level 3 - 1982 Texas Instruments Incorporated and
    Scholastic Inc.

Spelling tutor which takes advantage of the TI's speech capabilities.

16) Scholastic Spelling Level 4 - 1982 Texas Instruments Incorporated and
    Scholastic Inc.

Spelling tutor which takes advantage of the TI's speech capabilities.

17) Story Machine - 1983, 1982 Spinnaker Software Corp. All rights

Educational game for young children. Through a story which the child
creates, this software teaches basic concepts such as verbs, nouns
        and grammar.

18) Subtraction Sequence - 1982 Texas Instruments

A rather unimaginative product by Milliken. The software goes
through	54 levels of difficulty, simply drilling the student with
questions and producing cute pictures on correct answers, while
grading the student along the way. Also known as 'Subtraction.'

19) TI Logo (1981 TI)

As well as being a programming language, this module is included here
because 'Logo' was designed specifically for children, and it teaches
the basic concepts and techniques involved in computer programming,
        as well	as elementary geometry.

20) TI Logo II

As well as being a programming language, this module is included here
because 'Logo' was designed specifically for children, and it teaches
the basic concepts and techniques involved in computer programming,
        as well	as elementary geometry.
